The ZEFAL Shield R30 is a front and rear mudguard set for road bikes, giving you broad protection without requiring traditional full-length mudguard fittings. The 30 mm blades are intended for 700c / 28-inch wheels and tyres up to 25 mm wide, with coverage extending over more than 80% of the wheel. That extra length helps limit spray reaching your lower back, feet and riding companions.
The moulded technopolymer resin construction is supported by steel U stays, keeping the guards rigid and helping reduce vibration on rougher roads. An extra-long rear spoiler adds useful spray control, while the long front section helps protect your feet in wet conditions.
The MD-Quick mounting system uses straps, clips and adjustable mounts on the fork and stays, accommodating mounting diameters up to 75 mm. The system is designed for removal when conditions improve, although fitting takes patience: the installation has several small parts and adjustment points, so allow time to set the guards up carefully and check that the blades clear your tyres. You will also need some mounting points on the frame; the supporting stays themselves do not require special frame mounts.
