The Zefal 16/20 Mudguard Set gives a child's bike proper wet-weather cover at both ends. The guards sit close to the wheel for a neat look, and they are polypropylene, which Zefal describes as combining flexibility and strength.
Fitting uses Zefal's Standard-Fix system: adjustable steel brackets, with the screws, washers, nuts and an elastic clamp in the pack. Zefal lists the set as compatible with bikes fitted with rim brakes (V-brake) and recommends tyres up to 45 mm (1.75 in) wide. It is made in France.

Set the clearance before the first ride
Spin the wheel by hand after fitting and check for even clearance around the tyre, with nothing rubbing at the stays or fork. Recheck the fit if you change the tyres.
