Riders rebuilding a traditional adjustable bottom bracket who want fresh cups and bearings.
This is a bottom bracket set for road and mountain bikes: a fixed cup and an adjustable cup, two caged ball bearings and a lockring, finished in silver. It suits mountain bike cranks and older road bike cranks, and the seals are waterproof to help keep water and grit away from the bearings.
The adjustable cup is the pin type, with small holes for a pin spanner, and the lockring is notched for a C spanner. That makes it an adjustable, serviceable set rather than a sealed cartridge, so you set the bearings yourself and can strip and re-grease them. Shell width, thread and axle size are not stated for this set, and no axle is pictured, so check your existing bottom bracket before ordering.

Setting up a pin type set
The aim with an adjustable set is the loosest setting that still has no play. Hold the adjustable cup still while you tighten the lockring, then check for play at the axle ends. If you feel knocking, loosen the lockring, tighten the cup a small step and lock it off again.
