Manual wheelchair users, carers and facilities replacing worn 24 x 1 3/8 tyres.
This 24 x 1 3/8 tyre, also written 37-540, is the common size for manual wheelchair drive wheels. The grey, non-marking rubber won't leave black streaks on floors at home, in care facilities or in hospitals.
The low profile block tread rolls easily indoors and gives a bit of grip on paths and ramps outside. A wire bead keeps the tyre seated firmly on the rim.
The same 540 mm size also turns up on some older British children's bikes, so it's a handy tyre to know about if you're restoring one.

Maybe not for
Check the sidewall of your old tyre for 37-540 or 24 x 1 3/8. The 540 is the important number: it must match the rim. Needs a 24 x 1 3/8 inner tube.
Check the 540
There are several '24 inch' sizes and they don't swap. Look for 540 on your current tyre or rim. If you can't find it, bring the wheel in and we'll measure it and fit the tyre and tube for you.
