The RCT715 combines three useful rear-facing functions in one unit: a vehicle-detecting radar, a tail light and a camera. The radar can detect up to eight approaching vehicles from as far as 140 m away, sending alerts to a compatible head unit or smartphone so you can better understand traffic approaching from behind. You can also use the unit without a bike computer, with the light and radar operating independently.
The rear camera records at 1080p or 720p at 30 fps, with a wide 140° field of view. It can record continuously or respond to approaching traffic, while incident detection automatically saves footage when an incident is detected. This is best treated as a practical road-safety camera rather than an action camera: the footage is designed to document what happens behind you, not to deliver high-resolution cinematic video.
The integrated light offers solid, peloton, night-flash and day-flash modes, with up to 65 lumens and visibility claimed up to 1.6 km. Battery life varies with the selected light and recording settings, reaching up to 10 hours with the camera off in day-flash mode. ANT+, Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi provide flexible connections, and the included seatpost mounts make installation straightforward across common seatpost shapes. The IPX7 water rating adds reassurance when a ride turns wet.
