Tandem owners and mechanics replacing a worn or frayed brake inner cable on a long cable run.
This is a 1.6 mm brake inner cable that is 3050 mm long, sold for tandems. Tandems have long brake runs, so this wire is much longer than a standard 1700 mm or 2000 mm road or mountain wire, and you can route it in full and trim it to length.
It is listed as universal, which means it is not made for one brand's brakes. The pictured cable has a nipple at each end, so check that the nipple seats in your brake lever before you cut anything, and finish the cut end with an end cap.
3050 mm length
Long enough for the long cable runs on a tandem, and easy to trim to fit.
1.6 mm diameter
A common brake inner wire diameter.
Universal fit
Not limited to one brake brand.

3050 mm long and 1.6 mm thick. Measure the run from lever to caliper, allowing for the outer casing and bends, and trim the wire once it is fitted and adjusted.
Check the nipple before you cut
Seat the nipple in the lever, thread the wire through the outer casing, set the brake, and only then trim the wire, leaving enough to fit an end cap. Replace frayed or rusty wire rather than reusing it, and cut with a proper cable cutter so the end does not splay.
