Overview

Riders who patch their own tubes, at home or on the road.

Rubber solution is the glue used with traditional cold patches to repair punctured inner tubes. This 20cc tube from Thumbs Up is small enough to slip into a saddle bag or spares kit.

Once a tube of glue is opened it tends to dry out, so a fresh one is the easy fix when your repair kit's glue has gone hard.

20cc tube

For cold patches

Works with standard tube patches.

Who it's for

Great for

  • Patching butyl inner tubes
  • Topping up a puncture repair kit

Maybe not for

  • Latex or TPU tubes that need their own patches
  • Tubeless tyre repairs (use plugs instead)

Use with standard rubber cold patches on butyl inner tubes.

Worth knowing

Let it go tacky

Roughen the area around the hole, spread a thin layer of glue a little bigger than the patch, then wait until it turns from glossy to dull before pressing the patch on firmly. Rushing this step is the main reason patches lift.
