Riders and mechanics replacing a worn bottom bracket on a bike with PowerSpline cranks in a 68mm English-threaded frame.
The SRAM PowerSpline bottom bracket is the replacement for bikes running TruVativ or SRAM PowerSpline cranks, a 12-spline interface found on plenty of complete mountain, hybrid and kids' bikes. This one suits 68mm BSA (English) threaded shells and has a 118mm spindle.
The spindle is heat-treated chromoly, inside a sealed cartridge that threads in as one unit. There's nothing to adjust, and crank bolts are included, so a worn, crunchy BB can be swapped in one go.
Spindle length sets your chainline, so match the old one. It is usually printed on the cartridge body. A 113mm spindle version is also available.

Great for
Maybe not for
Needs a 68mm English (BSA) threaded shell and PowerSpline cranks. Match the 118mm spindle length to your old bottom bracket to keep the same chainline.
Read the old one first
Pull the cranks and check the length printed on the old cartridge before ordering. Shell width and spindle length are usually both marked.
Grease the threads
Grease the frame threads, fit the drive side cup first (it tightens anticlockwise on BSA), then the non-drive side. Clean the splines before refitting the cranks and torque the crank bolts properly.
Drivetrains, brakes and suspension from Chicago.
SRAM was founded in Chicago in 1987, starting out with its Grip Shift twist shifter before growing into one of the big three component makers.
Today the SRAM family covers road, gravel and mountain drivetrains and brakes, plus RockShox suspension, Zipp wheels and TruVativ cranks and bottom brackets.
