Home mechanics and workshops replacing a damaged or too-short hose on a SRAM brake with a black banjo caliper fitting, or rerouting for a new frame.
The SRAM Black Banjo hose kit replaces the brake line on SRAM hydraulic brakes that use a black banjo fitting at the caliper. SRAM lists it for Level ULT and TLM (A1), Code R, RS and RSC (B1), RED eTap HRD, S900 Monoblock and Code Stealth Ultimate, Silver and Bronze.
The 2000mm hose is long enough for a rear brake on most frames, and it is cut to length at the lever end. Both short road and long MTB compression nuts are included, along with barbs, olives, a caliper boot, external and stem-mounted cable holders and a T8 Torx key for fitting the barb.
Each kit does one brake, so order two if you are replacing front and rear. It runs DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 fluid only, and a bleed is needed after fitting.

Black banjo
A slim black banjo at the caliper lets you set the hose angle, with the compression fitting at the lever end for easy length changes.
Great for
Maybe not for
One kit per brake. Check your caliper's banjo is black before ordering; SRAM also makes silver banjo, bevelled banjo, double compression and threaded crimp kits. A bleed kit and DOT fluid are not included.
Measure twice
Route the new hose fully, turn the bars both ways and check suspension travel before cutting. Cut square with a proper hose cutter, then press the barb in with the T8 key so it seats fully.
Plan for a bleed
Any hose change means a full bleed with DOT 4 or 5.1. If you don't have a SRAM bleed kit, drop the bike in and we'll fit and bleed it for you.
Drivetrains, brakes and suspension from Chicago.
SRAM was founded in Chicago in 1987, starting out with its Grip Shift twist shifter before growing into one of the big three component makers.
Today the SRAM family covers road, gravel and mountain drivetrains and brakes, plus RockShox suspension, Zipp wheels and TruVativ cranks and bottom brackets.
