The SM-SH41 adapter set converts compatible three-hole cycling shoes to the two-hole SPD system. Fit the supplied adapter hardware to the shoe sole, then mount your SPD cleat on top using the required SM-SH40 cleat bolts. The pair is suitable for compatible three-hole outsoles and works with SM-SH51 and SM-SH56 cleats; cleats are not included.
The raised platform surrounds the recessed cleat to improve stability when walking and reduce contact between the cleat and the floor. Rubber contact areas add traction and help limit scuffs, making the setup more practical away from the bike than an exposed road cleat.
Installation is straightforward, but check your shoe and cleat position carefully before tightening. The adapter provides limited adjustment, with no fore-and-aft movement in some shoe setups, so it may not suit riders who need precise mid-foot cleat positioning. The adapters are identical for left and right shoes; use a Phillips screwdriver, a 4 mm Allen key and the recommended 5–6 N·m tightening torque.
