The Shimano SL-RS45 Revoshift is a twist shifter set: you change gear by rolling the grip section under your hand. The right shifter is 7-speed indexed for the rear derailleur and the left is a 3-speed SIS indexed shifter for the front, making it a match for 3 x 7 (21-speed) drivetrains.
Each shifter has an optical gear display, so you can see which gear you're in at a glance, which is especially handy for kids and newer riders. They clamp onto the bar next to your fixed grips.
Twist shifters are light on the hands and easy to learn, which is why you'll find them on so many kids' bikes, hybrids and entry-level mountain bikes. When the originals wear out or break, this set is a straight swap.

Suits 7-speed rear and triple front drivetrains using Shimano-compatible indexing. Needs shorter stationary grips to sit beside the shifters, as the twist section takes up part of the bar.
Grip length
Twist shifters take up bar space, so you'll need short fixed grips beside them. If you're swapping from triggers, budget for a pair of shorter grips.
Setting up
Fit new inner cables, set the derailleur limit screws first, then fine-tune indexing with the barrel adjuster. If you'd rather not fiddle with it, we're happy to fit and tune them for you.
