A practical choice for road-bike owners, mechanics and tandem riders replacing a long-reach inner wire in a Shimano SLR-compatible brake system.
This is a replacement brake inner wire for road bikes using Shimano SLR-style brake levers and compatible brake-cable outer. At 3500 mm, it provides substantially more reach than a standard road-brake inner, making it a practical choice for tandem setups, long cable runs or situations where you want plenty of cable to trim during installation.
The 1.6 mm stainless steel wire is treated for corrosion resistance, helping it stand up better to moisture and everyday contamination than an untreated wire. Run it through the correct brake outer, set the cable tension, then cut the excess to suit either the front or rear brake. Bike brake and gear cables are not interchangeable, so confirm that your lever and outer use the road-brake format before fitting.
An inner end cap is included to finish the cut end neatly and help prevent fraying. Replace the wire if you see damage, corrosion or fraying, and consider replacing worn outer housing at the same time for the smoothest, most predictable braking feel.
3500 mm tandem length
The generous length suits tandem bikes and longer cable routes, with enough spare wire to trim accurately during installation.
Stainless steel construction
Provides a durable inner wire for regular road-bike brake maintenance.
Anti-corrosion treatment
Adds protection against corrosion in damp conditions and during everyday riding.
For Shimano SLR road systems
Designed for use with SLR road brake levers and compatible brake-cable outer.
Front or rear fitment
One wire can be cut to suit either brake position.
Correct brake-wire diameter
The 1.6 mm diameter is specified for this road brake inner-wire application.
End cap included
Finish the trimmed cable neatly and help protect the end from fraying.
