Riders and mechanics replacing or re-routing a Shimano hydraulic brake hose on brakes with a straight caliper fitting.
The Shimano SM-BH90-SS is a genuine Shimano hydraulic disc brake hose with a straight connection at the caliper end. This one is 1700 mm long in black.
It is the hose to use when yours is damaged, kinked or too short after a bar, stem or frame change, or when you're re-routing brakes on a new build. The extra length gives plenty to work with and is cut to length during fitting.
It suits Shimano mineral oil brakes that take a straight hose fitting at the caliper. A new olive and connector insert are fitted at each cut end, and the brake is bled afterwards.
Genuine Shimano
Made for Shimano mineral oil brakes.
1700 mm
Long enough for most front or rear runs.
Straight connector
For calipers that take a straight hose fitting.
Cut to fit
Trimmed to the exact length your bike needs.
Hose
Great for
Maybe not for
Check how the hose joins your caliper: straight into the caliper suits this SS hose, a banjo elbow needs a different version. Fitting needs a hose cutter, new olive and insert, and a bleed.
Measure before you cut
Turn the bars fully both ways and allow for suspension travel before trimming. Too short and it pulls on turns, too long and it snags.
Plan for a bleed
Any time a hose is replaced the brake needs bleeding with Shimano mineral oil. If you don't have a bleed kit, we can fit and bleed it for you.
