Road and gravel riders with Centre Lock hubs who want a quiet, cool running 160 mm rotor.
The Shimano RT-CL800 is the Centre Lock disc rotor from Shimano's Ultegra and GRX level, in the 160 mm size. It uses ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA, a steel and aluminium sandwich with cooling fins, to shed heat quickly and resist fade on long, steep descents.
Shimano reworked the arm shape on this generation to make it more robust, which cuts resonance and helps the rotor run quietly under hard braking. It works with both resin and metal pads.
It fits any hub with a Centre Lock interface and comes with a lockring. 160 mm is a common size on road and gravel front and rear wheels.
FREEZA cooling
Sheds heat to keep braking consistent on long descents.
Quieter arms
A stronger arm shape reduces resonance and squeal.
Centre Lock
Fast, bolt-free fitting with one lockring.
Any pad
Works with resin and metal pads.

ICE TECHNOLOGIES FREEZA
A layered steel and aluminium rotor with cooling fins that pulls heat away from the braking surface, so braking stays consistent on long descents.
Centre Lock
Shimano's splined hub interface. The rotor slides on and is held by one lockring, so there are no six bolts to strip.
Great for
Maybe not for
Needs a Centre Lock hub and a brake mount set up for 160 mm rotors. Centre Lock lockrings come in two styles: internal serration for most thru axle hubs (fitted with a cassette lockring tool) and external serration (fitted with a bottom bracket style tool). Check which your hub needs, we're happy to confirm.
Bed in new rotors
After fitting, do 10 to 20 firm stops from moderate speed on a quiet street before a big ride. It lays down pad material evenly and gets you full power and less noise.
Keep it clean
Never touch the braking surface with oily hands or spray lube near it. If it gets contaminated, clean it with isopropyl alcohol and check the pads.
Components trusted on bikes all over the world.
Shimano was founded in 1921 in Sakai, Japan, and began by making freewheels. It is now the world's biggest maker of bicycle components.
From entry groupsets to Dura-Ace and XTR, Shimano parts are fitted to a huge share of new bikes, so spares and service parts are easy to find.
