Road racers and performance riders on a 12-speed Shimano drivetrain who want Dura-Ace weight and shifting with a 34T climbing gear.
This is the Dura-Ace CS-R9200-12 in the 11-34T spread, twelve sprockets running 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-24-27-30-34T. The six largest (19T to 34T) are titanium and the six smallest are nickel-plated steel, for an average weight of 253 g. Shimano says the move to twelve gears came without adding weight.
HYPERGLIDE+ shaping is designed so you can shift up or down the cassette under maximum pedalling load without easing off, whether you are climbing or sprinting. It fits Shimano 12-speed and road 11-speed freehub bodies, so many existing wheels can take it, and it needs a 12-speed HG chain.
Titanium sprockets
The six largest sprockets (19T to 34T) are titanium and the six smallest are nickel-plated steel.
253 g average weight
Shimano's listed weight for the 11-34T, with an aluminium spider and lock ring.
HYPERGLIDE+ shifting
Built for seamless shifts up and down the cassette under maximum pedalling load.
Wide 34T option
Shimano lists the 34T spec for pro-race use, a bigger climbing gear than the 11-30T.

Fit and build
HYPERGLIDE+
Shimano's shifting technology, brought to the road with 12-speed. It is designed so you do not need to back off to change gear, even during a maximal effort on a climb.
Great for
Maybe not for
This is the 11-34T. It needs a rear derailleur rated for a 34T largest sprocket and a 12-speed HG chain, so check your derailleur in Shimano's compatibility chart. Shimano also makes the Dura-Ace R9200 cassette in 11-30T.
Fitting and care
Tighten the lock ring to the 40 N·m marked on it and confirm your derailleur is rated for a 34T largest sprocket. With titanium on the six largest sprockets, keep the chain clean, lubed and replaced on time so the cassette lasts.
