Overview

A practical choice for commuters, utility riders and home mechanics upgrading or replacing a cable-operated disc brake on a compatible flat-bar bike.

The Shimano BR-M375 is a mechanical disc brake caliper designed for reliable, uncomplicated braking without the complexity of a hydraulic system. Its cable-operated design can be paired with existing V-brake-style flat-bar levers, making it a sensible choice when converting or repairing a disc-brake-compatible hybrid, city or mountain bike.

Setup is straightforward, with quick assembly and pad adjustment using a unified 5 mm Allen key. The caliper provides a light braking operation that suits comfortable, longer rides, while the clean cable routing works with both chain-stay and seat-stay mounting positions.

A 20% increase in pad clearance helps provide more room between the pads and rotor, reducing the likelihood of unwanted rubbing after installation or adjustment. The black caliper uses BP-B05S-RX resin pads without fins and delivers brake power equivalent to Shimano’s BR-M416A. Choose the BR-M375 when you want dependable, serviceable disc braking with familiar cable controls.

Mechanical cable operation

Uses a familiar brake cable and avoids the hydraulic bleeding and fluid maintenance associated with hydraulic systems.

Works with flat-bar levers

Compatible with existing V-brake-style flat-bar levers, making it suitable for straightforward replacement or upgrade projects.

Front or rear mounting

Suitable for use at either end of a compatible bike, with clean cable routing for chain-stay and seat-stay mounting positions.

20% more pad clearance

Extra clearance gives the pads more room around the rotor and helps make setup and day-to-day adjustment easier.

Simple 5 mm adjustment

Pad adjustment is standardised around a 5 mm Allen key, keeping workshop tools and maintenance simple.

Light braking action

The easy lever operation is well suited to comfortable, longer rides and everyday cycling.

Resin replacement pad

Uses a BP-B05S-RX resin pad without a fin for straightforward replacement when the pad wears.
