The BR-T4000 is a rear V-brake caliper designed for flat-bar trekking and mountain-bike applications. It uses an aluminium brake arm construction with a black painted finish and a 107 mm arch, making it a practical replacement where your frame and wheel setup already use V-brake bosses.
Setup is flexible: X- and Y-type spacers help position the assembly, while compatible lead-pipe angles of 45°, 90° and 135° make cable routing easier across different frame layouts. The caliper comes with S65T brake shoes and also supports M65T4 and M65T3 options.
On the road, a correctly installed and tuned V-brake can provide firm initial bite, useful speed control and positive arm return. The linear spring and sleeve-and-bushing axle support smooth operation, while the individual spring-tension adjustment screws help balance the arms. As with any rim brake, performance depends on clean, correctly aligned rims and properly set-up cables and pads; rim brakes can also be less effective in wet conditions than disc brakes.
