Road and endurance riders on 11-speed Shimano who want climbing gears, or anyone replacing a damaged 105 derailleur.
The Shimano 105 RD-R7000-GS brings the Shadow RD low-profile design from Shimano's top road groups to 105. The body sits tucked in close under the cassette, so it's less exposed in a crash and stays quiet and stable on rough roads.
The GS medium cage is the one to choose if you run a wide cassette. It handles a largest sprocket of up to 34T with 39T of total capacity, so a compact 50/34 chainset with an 11-34 cassette is no problem.
It works with Shimano 11-speed road shifters from 105, Ultegra and Dura-Ace, and fits either a standard hanger or a direct mount frame.

Compatibility
Shadow RD design
A low-profile body tucks the derailleur in under the cassette, keeping it out of harm's way and steady over rough roads.
GS medium cage
The longer cage handles wide-range cassettes up to 11-34, ideal for compact chainsets and climbing gears.
Great for
Maybe not for
Needs an 11-speed Shimano road shifter. Largest sprocket 28T to 34T. If your cassette tops out at 30T or less, the short-cage SS version also works, but the GS covers more options.
Check the hanger first
Most shifting problems after a knock are a bent hanger, not the derailleur. When fitting a new one we check the hanger alignment, set the B-tension for your largest sprocket and fit fresh cable and housing so it shifts like new.
