Riders training on a wheel-on turbo trainer or rollers who want to stop wearing out their road tyres indoors.
Wheel-on trainers and rollers are hard on normal road tyres: they wear flat, get hot and can get noisy. The Schwalbe Insider is made just for this job, with a roller compound that has much lower internal resistance, so it runs smoother and quieter and lasts longer on the drum.
It is a 700 x 23C (23-622) folding tyre in blue, so it is easy to tell apart from your outdoor tyres. Pump it to between 6 and 10 bar (85 to 145 psi) and fit it with a normal 700C road tube.
One important note: the Insider is not for road use. Keep it on a spare rear wheel or swap it on for winter indoor training, and save your outdoor tyres for outside.

Great for
Maybe not for
Fits 700C (622) road wheels. Use a standard 700 x 18 to 25C inner tube. Check your trainer's roller works with a 23 mm tyre (almost all do).
Keep a trainer wheel
If you train indoors a lot, fit the Insider to a spare rear wheel with its own cassette. Swapping wheels takes seconds and means you never forget to change the tyre back before a ride outside.
Roller tension
Pump the tyre to the same pressure every session and set the roller tension the same way each time. Too much tension wears the tyre fast; tighten just enough that the tyre does not slip when you sprint.

Schwalbe is the tyre brand of Ralf Bohle GmbH, a family company based in Reichshof, Germany. It focuses on bicycle tyres and tubes, from everyday commuter rubber to race tyres.
The Marathon family is Schwalbe's best known touring and commuting range, and Schwalbe was the first tyre maker to offer products made with Fair Rubber, paying a premium to the small farmers who tap the rubber.
