Riders with disc brake bikes who want to fix rotor rub themselves at home or on a trip.
A tick, tick, tick from your disc brakes usually means a rotor has picked up a slight bend. The PRO Disc Truing Tool gives you a slotted end to hook over the rotor and the leverage to ease it back into line, without reaching for a shifting spanner and making things worse.
It also comes with a caliper alignment gauge, so once the rotor is straight you can centre the caliper and set the pads with an even gap on both sides. Between the two, most brake rub on a disc bike can be sorted at home.
It's made by PRO, Shimano's in-house brand for components and tools, and it's small enough to live in a home toolbox or the car for race day.

Great for
Maybe not for
Works on disc brake rotors of any diameter. The alignment gauge is for setting pad clearance on disc brake calipers.
Find the bend first
Spin the wheel slowly and watch the gap between the rotor and pad to find the high spot. Make small bends, check again, and repeat. Hold the tool by the rotor surface, not the spokes, and keep your fingers off the braking track so you don't contaminate it.
Rub isn't always the rotor
If the rotor spins true and the brake still rubs, loosen the caliper bolts, use the gauge to set an even gap, and tighten the bolts back up evenly. If it still drags, bring it in and we'll take a look at the pistons.
