The PRO Cassette Wrench is a dedicated cassette installation and removal tool for cassettes with a 10T or 11T smallest sprocket. It works as an alternative to a traditional chain whip: the wrench’s pins latch onto the smallest sprocket and hold the cassette steady while you loosen the lockring with a compatible lockring tool.
The long steel shaft provides leverage when a cassette is tight, while the ergonomic TPR grip gives you a comfortable, secure hold. In testing, the wrench held firmly on the sprocket and made light work of stubborn cassettes, including a cassette fitted to an XD freehub body.
It is developed for use with the PRO Team Lockring Tool, although testing also found it compatible with other lockring tools, including tools with built-in handles. Check your cassette’s smallest sprocket before buying: this model does not suit 9T or 12T smallest sprockets, so it is not the right choice for every drivetrain.
