Overview

Parents who want a quick-release rear seat for a child up to 22 kg, on a bike with 26 or 28 inch wheels and a round or oval seat tube.

The Koolah FF is a frame mounted rear seat. It clamps to round or oval seat tubes from 28 to 40 mm (the holder needs 80 mm of free length) and suits bikes with or without a rear carrier. The frame holder lets you fit or release the seat in seconds with a push of the button, which makes it easy to commute with and easy to store.

Your child sits in a 3-point harness with a childproof buckle and an extra security frame belt, behind lateral protection and an armrest shape that keeps little hands safe. The footrests adjust through 4 positions and have large foot protection so feet stay clear of the wheel. Polisport rates the seat for children from 9 to 22 kg and states it meets EN 14344:2022 (TÜV GS).

Polisport recommends the Koolah FF for bikes with 26 and 28 inch wheels. It needs a round or oval seat tube of 28 to 40 mm with 80 mm of clear length for the holder. The seat is 398 mm wide, 748 mm high and 450 mm deep and weighs 3.13 kg. Always follow the assembly instructions supplied with the seat.

Check your bike before you fit a seat

Child seat fit comes down to the frame. Polisport lists this seat for round and oval seat tubes from 28 to 40 mm with 80 mm of free length, and says it is not compatible with square, triangular or carbon fibre frames or bikes with a rear shock absorber. If your bike has 29 inch wheels or a small frame, ask about the Koolah with the raised bracket instead. Never carry a child over 22 kg in this seat.
