Overview

Choose it if you want a fast XC race tyre with extra volume, reinforced sidewalls and dependable cornering support for technical courses.

The Scorpion XC RC ProWALL Team Edition is a high-performance XC tyre for racing across rocky terrain, dirt tracks and compact to mid-loose surfaces. The close, fast-rolling tread is paired with Pirelli’s Race Compound, balancing low rolling resistance with grip, damping and tear resistance so you can keep carrying speed without giving away control when the trail becomes more technical.

Its ProWALL casing adds reinforced sides and an extra nylon layer for improved resistance to punctures, penetration and cuts, while also helping the tyre stay stable at lower pressures. The squarer profile increases the footprint and supports more confident cornering, braking and climbing traction. Independent riding impressions of the current 2.4-inch version found it quick on climbs and flats, with particularly strong confidence gains through corners and on descents.

At 29x2.4 and 700 g, this is a substantial-volume race tyre rather than an ultra-minimal hardpack special. Pirelli optimises it for wide 30c rims, making it a strong choice for modern XC bikes and demanding marathon or stage-race courses. As with any low-profile XC tread, careful line choice and sensible speed management will help you get the best from it when the surface becomes very loose.

Race Compound

Balances low rolling resistance, grip, damping and tear resistance for fast acceleration and consistent control across varied surfaces.

ProWALL protection

Reinforced sides and an extra nylon layer improve resistance to punctures, penetration and cuts while supporting lower-pressure riding.

2.4-inch volume

The larger casing creates a broader footprint for more traction, stability and comfort than a narrower XC race tyre.

Squarer profile

Provides stronger shoulder support, quicker steering response and more confidence when cornering or braking on technical terrain.

120 TPI nylon casing

A high-density casing helps deliver the responsive feel expected from a race-focused tyre while retaining useful sidewall support.

Wide-rim optimisation

Designed around wide 30c rims to make the most of the 60-622 casing shape and increased volume.

Dry and wet versatility

The tread and compound are suited to rocky terrain, dirt tracks and compact to mid-loose surfaces in both dry and wet conditions.

FSC-certified natural rubber

Uses responsibly sourced FSC-certified natural rubber as part of the tyre construction.

Technology

Race Compound

Our high-performance XC compound balances low rolling resistance, chemical grip, controlled damping and tear resistance. It delivers fast acceleration, precise control and consistent performance across different surfaces and throughout the tyre’s life.

ProWALL

The reinforced sidewall construction adds protection against punctures, penetration and cuts while improving stability and handling at lower pressures. It is designed for confident XC racing and demanding trail use.

Squarer profile

The more squared shoulder profile increases the footprint and gives you stronger cornering support, more immediate steering response and greater traction when braking or riding technical terrain.

FSC™ certified natural rubber

The tyre uses responsibly sourced FSC™ certified natural rubber, supporting environmental protection, biodiversity, workers’ rights and local communities.
