Overview

Ideal for road racers, fast group riders and performance-focused cyclists who want a quick, grippy 700x28c tubeless tyre and accept a race-oriented approach to puncture protection.

The P ZERO Race TLR RS is Pirelli’s competition-focused tubeless road tyre for riders who want to preserve speed while gaining dependable grip and control. In this 700x28c version, the SpeedCORE™ casing and SmartEVO² compound create a responsive tyre with a firm but cushioned road feel, helping you stay composed over imperfect tarmac and confident when pushing through corners.

The ride is particularly convincing when you are accelerating, sprinting or carrying speed into a bend. Independent testing recorded 10.5 watts of rolling resistance for the 28mm sample, while real-world riding reported strong straight-line speed, smooth feedback and secure wet-weather grip. The tyre also measured at its claimed 28mm width in testing, making it a practical choice for modern road wheels where comfort and efficiency both matter.

This is a race-first tyre, not a maximum-protection training tyre. Testing found the tubeless setup seals reliably once mounted, although fitting can require some effort and a tyre lever. The casing is tubeless-ready and designed for current hooked and hookless rims, so check your wheel manufacturer’s rim and pressure requirements before installation. Choose it when performance, handling and ride feel matter more than the highest possible puncture resistance.

Race-focused speed

The 120 TPI casing and SmartEVO² compound are built to keep rolling resistance low when you are racing, climbing or riding at speed.

Confident wet grip

SmartEVO² is designed to maintain strong grip and control on wet roads, helping you corner with greater confidence when conditions change.

Cushioned road feel

The flexible tubeless-ready construction smooths road chatter without making the tyre feel vague or sluggish.

Responsive handling

The tyre feels direct and predictable through fast corners, sprints and changes of direction.

SpeedCORE™ construction

A thin airtight rubber layer reinforced with aramid particles supports air retention, mechanical resistance and casing flexibility.

Tubeless-ready fit

Designed for modern hooked and hookless rims, giving you the benefits of a tubeless road setup when paired with compatible wheels and accessories.

Responsible natural rubber

FSC®-certified natural rubber makes up approximately 23% of the tyre’s total weight, adding a more traceable material choice to this performance design.

Know its priority

The RS prioritises speed and ride feel over maximum puncture protection, making it better suited to racing and fast riding than durability-first everyday training.
