Road riders who want a light cover for cool, windy mornings, plus a boost in visibility and a little less drag.
The Pearl Izumi PRO Barrier Lite is a race-style shoe cover for the in-between days when proper winter booties are too much. Pearl Izumi describes it as its thinnest, lightest and most aerodynamic cover, and it was developed in the wind tunnel.
A stretch PRO Barrier Lite fabric pulls tight over your road shoe to keep wind off your toes, and a zip at the back makes it easy to get on and off. The sole panel blends in Kevlar aramid for extra toughness around the cleat.
It is best The screaming yellow colour also puts bright moving colour at pedal height, one of the most noticeable spots for drivers.

Great for
Maybe not for
Made for road shoes with external three-bolt cleats. Choose your size by shoe size using Pearl Izumi's size chart; a snug fit is intended.
Fit before you clip in
Pull the cover on before your shoe, then work the cutout around the cleat and heel. Doing it seated saves a lot of hopping around the car park.
Know its limits
This is a wind cover rather than a rain boot. On properly cold or wet days, a thicker waterproof cover will keep your toes much happier.
