Road and gravel riders who start early in cool weather and want flexible warmth.
Melbourne mornings can start at 8°C and finish at 25°C. The Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Arm Warmers let you ride through both without committing to a long-sleeve jersey.
They are made from soft thermal fleece that holds warmth but still breathes when you are working hard. The outside is treated with PI Dry, which sheds light rain and road spray so damp air does not chill you through.
Each warmer is left or right specific and shaped for the bent-arm riding position, and a wide gripper at the bicep keeps them up under your jersey sleeve. Sold as a pair in black, size XL.

Great for
Maybe not for
Size XL. Arm warmers should be snug so they do not slide down; check Pearl Izumi's size chart against your bicep and arm length. If you are between sizes, the smaller size usually stays up better.
Put them on first
Pull the warmers on before your jersey so the gripper sits under the sleeve. It stops the draughty gap at the top of the arm.
Wash gently
Wash cold and skip fabric softener, which can reduce the PI Dry water shedding.
