Overview

Kids about 7 to 10+ years old and 130 to 160 cm tall moving up to their first geared bike for paths, school runs and family rides.

The Neo+ 24 7s is built for kids who are ready to ride further. Its GEN 3 lightweight alloy frame has a lowered bottom bracket for stability and a low standover height, so it is easy to hop on and put a foot down.

Shimano 7-speed gearing with a simple Revoshift twist shifter gives enough range for hills and longer family rides, while 24 x 1.95 inch multi-terrain tyres roll smoothly on paths and handle a bit of gravel.

Kid-sized touches make a real difference: short-reach brake levers, a 560 mm low-riser bar, a Comfortech youth saddle and a quick-release seatpost to keep up with growth spurts. The Chrome Red finish layers bright colour over Neo's brushed alloy look, and a kickstand is included.

Technology

GEN 3 geometry

A lowered bottom bracket brings the centre of gravity down for more stability and confidence, and the low standover makes it easy for kids to put a foot down.

Chrome finish

Neo's brushed alloy look layered with a bright chrome colour.

Who it's for

Great for

  • Bike paths and school runs
  • Family rides with a few hills
  • Kids moving up from a 20 inch bike

Maybe not for

  • Rough singletrack (look at the Neo Disc+ with suspension and disc brakes)
  • Riders under about 130 cm

Suits riders around 130 to 160 cm, typically 7 to 10+ years. Your child should be able to stand over the bike with both feet flat and reach the brake levers comfortably. Bring them in and we will check the fit.

Worth knowing

Teaching gears

Show your child to shift to an easier gear before a hill, not halfway up it, and to keep pedalling lightly while they shift. A quick spin around a flat car park is the best place to practise.
