Apply it the Motorex way
Start with a clean, dry chain. Spray the inside of the chain while turning the cranks backwards, leave it to soak in for a few minutes, ideally overnight, then wipe the outside of the chain with a lint-free rag. The lube should stay inside the links, not on the outside plates.
Protect your brakes
Hold a rag behind the chain as you spray. If any lube reaches a disc rotor or pads, clean the rotor with isopropyl alcohol and bring the bike in if the pads are contaminated.
