Ideal for XC and light-trail riders who want a quick-rolling 29er tyre for dry, firm trails and straightforward front or rear use.
The Ardent is built for dry, hard-packed trails, where its low-profile tread delivers a quick, efficient feel under power. Its rounded profile and predictable transition into the side knobs make it comfortable for everyday XC and trail riding, with useful grip on compacted dirt, rock and firm surfaces.
Choose this 29 x 2.25 wire-bead configuration when easy-rolling performance matters more than aggressive loose-terrain traction. The single compound and 60 TPI casing keep the specification straightforward, while the 809–832 g catalogue weight gives you a clear idea of its rotational mass. It can be fitted at the front or rear, subject to frame and fork clearance, and is suited to rims measuring 17–29 mm internally.
The Ardent is at its best on firm ground. Its tread can feel less secure in deep loose soil, sand or mud than a more aggressive trail pattern, so it is a strong choice for dry-weather riding rather than an all-conditions tyre. Note that this wire-bead black configuration is not listed as Tubeless Ready, so check your preferred tube and wheel setup before buying.
Fast on firm trails
The low-profile tread and ramped centre knobs help the Ardent roll efficiently across hard-packed dirt, compacted surfaces and rock.
Predictable cornering feel
Its rounded profile transitions smoothly towards the side knobs, giving controlled handling on suitable firm ground.
Useful climbing and braking grip
Squared tread edges help the tyre bite when pedalling or braking on hard-packed trails.
Front or rear fitment
Use it at either end of the bike, depending on your preferred tyre pairing and available clearance.
29 x 2.25 sizing
A versatile XC and trail width with an ETRTO size of 54/56-622.
Straightforward wire-bead construction
The wire bead offers a practical, durable setup for riders who do not need a folding or tubeless-ready specification.
Check your wheel setup
The recommended rim width is 17–29 mm, with a maximum listed pressure of 65 psi.
Dry-weather specialist
Best suited to dry, hard-packed trails; more aggressive tread is preferable for consistently loose or muddy conditions.
