A strong choice for commuters, recreational cyclists and weekend riders who want light, well-ventilated protection with an easy one-size fit.
The Lazer Tempo KinetiCore is built for everyday cycling, giving you lightweight protection, straightforward adjustment and comfortable ventilation without the cost or complexity of a premium race helmet. Its integrated KinetiCore design uses controlled crumple zones within the EPS foam to help manage direct and rotational impact forces, without adding a separate rotational-protection liner.
Fit is simple: the TurnSys® system adjusts with a rear dial, while the unisize shell is designed for heads from 54–61 cm. Independent day-to-day testing found the fit easy to dial in, secure during mixed riding and comfortable on longer outings. The padding and straps feel more functional than luxurious, but they stay in place and do the job reliably.
Ventilation is a real strength for recreational riding. Air channels help move heat away from your scalp, and testing found the Tempo comfortable on warmer rides without feeling stuffy on slower climbs. Add the optional Universal Lazer LED for a rear visibility upgrade, or fit the compatible Winter Kit when you want to extend the helmet’s use into colder weather.
Integrated KinetiCore protection
Controlled crumple zones are built into the EPS foam to help absorb energy from direct and rotational impacts without adding a separate liner.
Easy TurnSys® adjustment
Use the rear dial to fine-tune the fit quickly, helping keep the helmet secure on daily rides and longer outings.
Unisize 54–61 cm fit
The shell and fit system accommodate a broad range of head sizes and shapes, making sizing straightforward for many riders.
Comfortable ventilation
The internal airflow design helps shift heat away from your head, with testing showing good performance on warm rides and slow climbs.
Lightweight construction
At 260 g CE, the Tempo keeps weight down for a more comfortable feel during commuting, recreational riding and weekend kilometres. (lazersport.us)
Universal Lazer LED compatible

KinetiCore
Integrated rotational-impact protection that uses EPS foam blocks known as controlled crumple zones. These zones crumple during an impact to absorb energy from direct and rotational forces, while the integrated design reduces the need for added plastics and EPS.
Controlled Crumple Zones
Purpose-designed EPS foam blocks deform under impact to help absorb energy before it reaches the cyclist’s brain.
TurnSys®
An adjustable fit system that helps provide a secure, comfortable fit across the unisize range.
Integrated lightweight construction
KinetiCore is built into the helmet rather than added as a separate layer, helping reduce material use and overall weight while supporting ventilation.
Belgian helmet specialist with more than a century of history.
Lazer is a Belgian helmet brand founded in 1919, with roots in Nivelles and headquarters today in Mechelen, Belgium. The company began with protective headwear long before modern cycling helmets became standard, then evolved through leather crash hats into hard-shell bicycle helmets as the sport demanded higher levels of protection.
Over the decades, Lazer became closely associated with cycling helmet development, including early hard-shell road helmets and more recent advances in fit, ventilation and rotational-impact design. Since 2016, Lazer has been part of Shimano, and in 2022 it introduced KinetiCore, its own built-in rotational impact protection system.
