Kids with a 50 to 56 cm head moving onto balance bikes, scooters or their first pedal bike.
The Lazer Nutz 2.0 KinetiCore is built for kids graduating to balance bikes and first pedal bikes. One size fits 50 to 56 cm, and the TurnSys dial at the back makes it quick to snug up the fit as they put it on. The head basket also expands as your child grows.
Protection comes from KinetiCore, Lazer's built-in system designed to handle both direct and rotational impacts, with extra coverage at the temples. Parents will like the side buckle, which sits at the cheek so it can't pinch the skin under the chin, and the insect net that stops bugs getting into the front vents.
There is a rear mount for a Lazer Universal LED so they are easier to see, and the whole helmet weighs just 240 g. The Unicorns design is pink with purple and white unicorns all over, the kind of helmet kids actually want to wear.

Features
KinetiCore
Lazer's built-in rotational impact protection. Blocks of EPS foam in the liner are designed to crumple on impact, absorbing energy from direct and angled hits.
TurnSys
A dial at the back tightens or loosens the head basket, so the fit can be set in seconds.
Great for
Maybe not for
Measure around your child's head just above the eyebrows. Anywhere from 50 to 56 cm fits. Set the TurnSys dial so the helmet sits level, about two fingers above the eyebrows, and doesn't rock.
Getting the fit right
Put the helmet on level, then turn the dial until it is snug but comfortable. The side straps should form a V just under each ear, and you should fit about one finger between the strap and chin. Bring your child in and we will happily check it.
Ponytails
If your child wears a ponytail, try it lower at the neck so the dial and basket can sit properly. A high ponytail can push the helmet forward.
Lazer is a Belgian helmet maker founded in 1919, now based in Mechelen and part of Shimano since 2016.
Its KinetiCore rotational protection, introduced in 2022, is built into the helmet liner rather than added as a separate layer.
