Trail riders, commuters and anyone upgrading from basic plastic pedals who wants more grip without paying for alloy.
The JetBlack Thermolite is a composite flat pedal with a generous 124 x 114 mm platform and a slim 22 mm profile. The fibre-reinforced nylon body keeps the pair to 380 g.
Grip comes from 18 replaceable pins per pedal, so worn or snapped pins can be swapped rather than binning the pedal. Underneath, a cro-moly axle runs on an IGUS DU bushing and sealed bearing.
It is a sensible upgrade from stock plastic pedals on a trail bike, commuter or kids' bike with standard 9/16 inch cranks, and the grey colour suits almost anything.

Pins are sharp: wear sturdy shoes and shin protection on technical trails.
Fitting flat pedals
The left pedal has a reverse thread, so it tightens anticlockwise. Put a little grease on both threads and snug them up firmly with a pedal spanner or hex key. Check the pins now and then, and replace any that have snapped before they strip the thread.
