Riders with 8-speed bikes that use a screw-on freewheel hub.
The Falcon 8-speed screw-on freewheel has a 13-28T spread (13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 28), giving close steps for flat roads and a comfortable bottom gear for hills. It is a steel cluster finished in black.
Freewheels screw onto a threaded hub rather than sliding onto a freehub body, so this suits the many commuter, hybrid and entry-level bikes built that way. It is made for 8-speed index shifting and works with Shimano-compatible 8-speed shifters and chains.
If your chain skips under load even after a new chain, or the cogs look hooked and worn, a fresh freewheel usually sorts it.

Freewheel
Great for
Maybe not for
Check your wheel first: if the gears unscrew from the hub as one piece, it is a freewheel; if they slide off a splined body after removing a lockring, you need a cassette.
Change the chain too
A worn chain will skip on a new freewheel, so fit a new 8-speed chain at the same time. You will need a freewheel removal tool that matches the old one, and a little grease on the hub threads before fitting.
