Overview

Riders heading out on long or hot rides who want maximum water in a light, easy-squeeze bottle.

The Elite Fly Tex is the bottle you'll see in bottle cages across the pro peloton, and this is the big one: 950 ml of capacity for a bottle weighing only 68 g. It's a smart choice for long rides, gravel days and hot Melbourne afternoons when one small bottle just won't cut it.

Elite uses a variable wall thickness, thinner through the middle and stronger at the base, so the body squeezes easily and the push-pull valve delivers a good, fast stream. The textured Tex surface makes it easier to grab with sweaty or gloved hands.

A 54 mm mouth makes filling with ice or drink mix quick, and the cap and body come fully apart for proper cleaning. The body is 74 mm in diameter to suit standard cages, but check that a tall bottle clears your frame, particularly on smaller or full-suspension bikes.

950 ml capacity

Plenty of water for long days between refills.

Only 68 g

Very light for its size, thanks to variable wall thickness.

Easy squeeze, fast flow

Soft body and high-flow push-pull valve.

Textured grip

Secure hold with sweaty or gloved hands.

Wide mouth, fully apart

Fills fast and cleans properly.

Technology

Variable wall thickness

Thin in the middle and thicker at the base, so the Fly uses less plastic without losing strength, and squeezes with a light touch.

Tex grip surface

A textured finish on the body that is easier to hold with sweaty or gloved hands.

Wide mouth

A 54 mm opening, 20% wider than standard bottles, for quick filling with ice or drink mix and easier cleaning.

Who it's for

Great for

  • Long road and gravel rides
  • Hot weather
  • Riders who only have room for one bottle and want the most water

Maybe not for

  • Small frames or full-suspension bikes with tight clearance (consider the 550 or 750 ml)
  • Hot drinks above 40°C

74 mm diameter suits standard bottle cages. The 950 ml bottle is tall, so check it clears your top tube or shock before you buy. Also available in 550 and 750 ml.

Worth knowing

Check your clearance

Big bottles are great until they hit the top tube. If yours is tight, try a side-entry cage or run the 950 on the seat tube and a smaller Fly on the down tube.

Keep it fresh

Unscrew the cap and pull the valve out after each ride, rinse everything in warm soapy water and let it dry apart. It keeps sports drink residue from building up.
