Trail, enduro, gravel and commuter riders on SPD pedals who want quicker, easier clip-in.
The Shimano CL-MT001 has multi-directional entry, so you can clip in front first then rear, rear first then front, or simply stomp straight down. It releases with the same action as the classic SM-SH51, because it is a single-release cleat rather than a multi-release one.
The cleat is thinner and tapered, which makes walking easier and quieter, and it is made from heat-treated forged steel for long life. It works with Shimano SPD pedals and shoes, and Shimano designed it to complement its next-generation trail and enduro pedals. This set includes the cleat nut plates as well as the bolts.
Multi-directional entry
Clip in front first, rear first or by stomping straight down.
Single-release
Releases with the familiar SM-SH51 action, not multi-release.
Four degrees of float
A little movement in the pedal, with secure engagement over technical terrain.
Cleat nuts included
The set comes with the cleat nut plates for mounting in your shoes.

One size, sold as a pair for two-bolt SPD shoes. Shimano notes that contact stability may vary with shoe condition and pedal body size, so check your cleat position and how the pedal feels after fitting.
Mark your old cleats before you swap
The cleat nut is the threaded plate that sits inside the shoe under the cleat, and this set includes new ones. Before removing your old cleats, mark their position with a pen so your riding position does not change, then fit the new cleats and tighten both bolts evenly.
