These cartridge brake shoes are made for road caliper rim brakes. Each shoe pairs a black holder with a 50 mm pad insert, a good size for the narrow braking track on road rims.
The cartridge layout means the holder stays bolted to the brake arm once it is set up. When the rubber wears down, slide in new inserts and you keep the same position and toe-in.
Sold as a pair, enough for one wheel. Most bikes will want two pairs for a full refresh.

Fitting tip
Set each shoe so the pad sits flat on the rim and well clear of the tyre, with a slight toe-in at the leading edge. Give the rims a clean with some isopropyl alcohol so the new pads bed in on a fresh surface.
