Home mechanics and riders replacing worn 699-2RS bearings in hubs, pivots or other components.
The 699-2RS is a 9 x 20 x 6 mm cartridge bearing used in some hubs, freehubs and suspension pivots. This one is from Black Bearing's B5 range, the French brand's everyday steel bearing built specifically for bikes.
It uses chrome steel balls, races and cage, finished to ABEC 5 precision, with 2RS rubber seals on both sides and good quality grease inside to handle wet and dusty riding.
It's sold individually, so you can buy exactly as many as your job needs.

Great for
Maybe not for
Match the size printed on your old bearing: 699-2RS is 9 mm inner, 20 mm outer and 6 mm wide. Check how many your hub or pivot uses, as this is sold as a single bearing.
Use the right press
Press bearings in on the outer race when fitting into a hub or frame, and on the inner race when fitting onto an axle. Pushing through the balls damages a new bearing before it ever turns.
Replace in sets
If one bearing in a hub or pivot is rough, the others have done the same kilometres. Replacing them together saves pulling it apart twice.
