Overview

Ideal for riders restoring or maintaining an older 7- to 10-speed bike who want an affordable pulley replacement with broad cross-brand compatibility.

The BBB Cycling RollerBoys 10T is a smart replacement pulley set for older rear derailleurs that still have plenty of life left in them. If your current jockey wheels are hooked, noisy or sloppy, swapping them out can sharpen the feel of the whole drivetrain without the cost of replacing the derailleur. This set uses a 10-tooth pulley design, industrial bearings, and a special tooth pattern aimed at quick, consistent shifting.

For day-to-day bikes, older road builds and plenty of 7- to 10-speed setups, these are a practical upgrade over tired stock pulleys. The body uses EMS composite with a 40% glass-fibre mixture, which is there to balance low weight with good durability, and the box includes bushings/spacers for different shifting systems to make fitment easier across compatible derailleurs.

The key thing to check is compatibility. These are suited to Shimano 7/8-speed, Campagnolo 8/9/10-speed, and older SRAM 9.0, 9.0 SL, 7.0 and 5.0 models from the late 1990s. They can be a great fix for older bikes that are hard to match with current OEM pulleys, but they are not the right pick if your derailleur is built around newer 11- or 12-speed pulley standards.

10-tooth pulley format

Designed for rear derailleurs that use 10T pulleys, making it a useful option for many older drivetrains that do not take newer 11T replacements.

Wide 7- to 10-speed coverage

Covers Shimano, Campagnolo and selected older SRAM systems, so it suits a broad range of older road, MTB and commuter bikes.

Industrial bearings

Uses industrial cartridge-style bearings to keep the pulleys running smoothly for everyday riding and routine drivetrain refreshes.

Special tooth pattern

The pulley tooth shape is intended to support quick, clean shifting, especially when replacing badly worn original wheels.

Composite body with glass-fibre mix

Built from EMS composite with 40% glass fibre for a balance of stiffness, durability and low weight.

Bushings included

Comes with a complete set of bushings/spacers for different shifting systems, which helps when matching older derailleur hardware.

Low overall weight

At 22 g for the set, it keeps things light while still being a practical wear-part replacement.

Who it's for

Great for

  • Restoring older road bikes
  • Refreshing commuter and flat-bar drivetrains
  • Keeping a 7-, 8-, 9- or 10-speed bike running without replacing the derailleur
  • Riders wanting a budget-friendly pulley replacement

Maybe not for

  • 11-speed or 12-speed rear derailleurs
  • Modern SRAM AXS, Shimano Di2 11/12-speed, or current narrow-specific pulley standards
  • 1x drivetrains needing a narrow-wide style pulley
  • E-bikes where extra drivetrain load may justify a heavier-duty option

Check that your derailleur uses 10T pulleys before ordering. Compatibility listed for Shimano 7/8-speed, Campagnolo 8/9/10-speed, and older SRAM 9.0, 9.0 SL, 7.0 and 5.0 models from the late 1990s. These are supplied with bushings/spacers for different systems. Some users have found replacement pulleys slightly thicker than what they removed, so a quick derailleur alignment check after install is worthwhile.

How it compares

vs BBB RollerBoys BDP-02 11T

A close sibling in the same range, but built around an 11-tooth format for different derailleur compatibility.

vs Shimano Pulley Set 8-/9-/10-speed

A genuine Shimano replacement set with 11T pulleys for a long list of Shimano road and MTB derailleurs.

vs Campagnolo Centaur 10-speed Derailleur Pulleys

A model-specific Campagnolo replacement for Centaur 10-speed rear derailleurs.

Worth knowing

Check tooth count first

Pulley tooth count matters more than many riders expect. If your derailleur was designed around 10T pulleys, moving to an 11T alternative is not always a straight swap.

Best suited to older bikes

This is the sort of part that makes sense on an older road, MTB or commuter build where the derailleur still works well but the pulley wheels are clearly worn.

Included bushings help, but fit still matters

The included bushings/spacers broaden compatibility, but older derailleurs can vary. Before final tightening, make sure the pulley spins freely and the hardware matches your original setup.

Do a derailleur check after installation

If the replacement pulleys are a little different in thickness from the originals, it is worth checking upper pulley alignment and overall indexing once fitted.
