Home mechanics working on bikes with square taper, ISIS Drive or Octalink cranks.
Cranks on square taper, ISIS Drive and Shimano Octalink bottom brackets are pressed onto the spindle, and they don't come off with a hex key alone. The BBB PowerPull threads into the crank arm and pushes against the spindle to draw the arm off evenly.
A removable cap lets one tool do all three jobs. With the cap off it bears on a square taper spindle, and with the cap fitted it bears on the wider ISIS and Octalink spindles.
It's a compact tool at 62 mm long and 92 g, easy to keep in a home toolbox for the day your old commuter or MTB needs a new bottom bracket.

One puller covers three spindle types: take the cap off to push on a square taper spindle, leave it on to push on the wider ISIS and Octalink spindles.
Great for
Maybe not for
Threads into the standard crank puller thread in the crank arm. You'll also need a spanner to turn the tool and the right tool to remove the crank bolt first.
Thread it all the way in
Remove the crank bolt and washer, then screw the outer body of the puller fully into the crank by hand before you turn the inner bolt. If it's only caught by a couple of threads it can strip the crank, which is the most common way this job goes wrong.
Cap on or cap off
Check the spindle before you start. Square taper spindles are small and use the tool without the cap, while ISIS and Octalink spindles are wider and need the cap fitted.
