Overview

A practical choice for home mechanics, workshop use and anyone who regularly replaces, cleans or services Shimano-compatible cassettes.

The BBB Cycling LockOut Shimano is a dedicated cassette lock-ring tool for removing and installing Shimano-compatible cassettes, as well as lock-rings used with Centre Lock disc brake hub systems. It covers 7-, 8-, 9-, 10-, 11- and 12-speed applications, making it suitable for a wide range of road, mountain bike and everyday bicycle drivetrains.

With a 290 mm handle, the LockOut gives you the leverage needed to loosen a tightly installed lock-ring and tighten it again during cassette replacement. The Kraton handle is designed to provide a firm, comfortable grip, while retailer feedback highlights the tool’s useful leverage, sturdy feel and secure handling during cassette work.

The LockOut is the working half of a cassette-removal setup when paired with BBB Cycling’s TurnTable or T-RexGrip. For bikes using a thru-axle, the compatible GuidePin system is used with the LockOut and the matching cassette tool to keep the tool aligned during removal.

7- to 12-speed compatibility

Works with Shimano-compatible cassettes from 7 through 12 speeds, covering a broad range of current and older drivetrains.

Centre Lock support

Also removes and installs lock-rings used on Centre Lock disc brake hub systems.

Useful workshop leverage

The 290 mm handle gives you the reach and leverage needed for stubborn lock-rings and secure cassette installation.

Kraton grip

The grippy Kraton handle helps you maintain a firm, comfortable hold while applying force.

Designed for cassette maintenance

Use it to remove a cassette from the hub or install a replacement during drivetrain servicing.

Pairs with BBB cassette tools

The LockOut is designed to work as the second half of a setup using the TurnTable or T-RexGrip; a chain whip or equivalent cassette-holding tool is required for cassette removal.

Shimano-specific version

This model is intended for Shimano-compatible cassette standards rather than Campagnolo cassettes.
