A rider or workshop with a 12-speed chain who wants a link that can be opened again for cleaning and waxing.
This YBN QRS 12 is a reusable quick fix link for 12-speed chains. It joins the two ends of a chain and can be opened again later, which suits riders who take the chain off to clean or wax it. YBN says it can be refitted up to five times.
The link is sized for 5.25 mm (1/2 x 11/128 in) 12-speed chains and suits Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo and YBN chains. It has four safety sections to help stop it releasing by accident, and the maker notes that tools are needed to fit and release it. Always use a new connecting link when you renew the chain.
Reusable
YBN says the link can be refitted up to five times. Replace it after five uses, or when the chain is replaced, whichever comes first.
Four safety sections
The design has four safety sections to help stop the link releasing by accident.
Chromium carbide hardening

Great for
Maybe not for
One size, made for 12-speed chains (5.25 mm, 1/2 x 11/128 in). It is not interchangeable with links for 10 or 11-speed chains, so check your chain's speed first.
Not for SRAM Flattop chains
This link is made for 5.25 mm 12-speed chains. It is not suitable for SRAM AXS Flattop road chains, which use their own connector. YBN says to replace the link after five uses, or when you replace the chain, whichever comes first.
