The Tioga MaxProtect tube wraps the air chamber in a thick outer layer of tough elastomer composite. Thorns, pins and small bits of glass get stuck in that layer instead of puncturing the tube.
The composite has a cellular structure, so it stays light, flexible and shock absorbing and rides much like a normal tube. When deflated it's soft and easy to fit.
This one fits 700c tyres from 38 to 45 mm wide, the typical hybrid, commuter and gravel range, and uses a 40 mm Schrader (car type) valve.
