This SunRace 5-speed screw-on freewheel combines the sprockets and ratchet mechanism in one unit that threads straight onto the rear hub. If your bike has five gears at the back and the cogs are worn, hooked or skipping, this is the like-for-like replacement.
The 14-28T range gives a small 14-tooth cog for cruising and a big 28-tooth cog that makes hills noticeably easier, which suits commuters, kids' bikes and older ten-speed road bikes. It is steel with a chrome finish for durability.
It needs a threaded freewheel hub, not a cassette freehub. When a freewheel wears it is worth checking the chain too, as a stretched chain will wear out new sprockets quickly.
