DART stands for Dual Action Repair for Tubeless. A barbed plastic tip anchors in the tyre while the plug material reacts with Stan's sealant, sealing slashes and bigger punctures that sealant would struggle with on its own. There is no trimming afterwards; the DART wears away with the tread.
