SRAM's Medium pad is the shape used in its popular four-piston trail brakes: Guide, G2, Level Stealth 4-piston and the older Avid Trail. This set uses SRAM's Powerful organic compound on a steel backing plate.
Organic pads are quiet, bed in quickly and have lots of initial bite. SRAM's Powerful version adds a bit more stopping power over its standard quiet organic, which suits aggressive cross-country and trail riding in mostly dry conditions.
Like all organic pads they wear quicker than sintered and are not at their best in wet, muddy weather. If you ride in the mud a lot or do big descents, look at SRAM's heavy duty sintered pad instead.
