Silca Synerg-E is based on Synergetic, the wet lube that recorded a 0.0% wear block in Zero Friction Cycling lab testing. It blends the same tungsten tribofilm technology into a higher viscosity oil with calcium sulfonate, which Silca says nearly doubles the oil film strength.
The maker developed it for e-bike chains, which see more than twice the internal pressure of a normal chain and can wear chains, chainrings and cassettes out faster. The trade off is roughly 1 watt of efficiency compared with Synergetic. It contains no PFAS or other fluorinated chemicals.
