Hose end support when cutting or fitting a hose
The Shimano SM-BH90 connecting insert is the small barbed pin that pushes into the cut end of a BH90 hydraulic hose. It stops the hose from collapsing when the olive and connecting bolt are tightened, so the joint seals and the brake keeps a firm feel.
You'll need one whenever a hose is shortened, replaced or re-terminated, for example after fitting a new bar or stem, swapping levers, or on internally routed bikes where the hose has to come off. We sell them individually from Shimano's workshop jar, so you only buy what the job needs.
