Wheel-on trainers and rollers are hard on normal road tyres: they wear flat, get hot and can get noisy. The Schwalbe Insider is made just for this job, with a roller compound that has much lower internal resistance, so it runs smoother and quieter and lasts longer on the drum.
It is a 700 x 23C (23-622) folding tyre in blue, so it is easy to tell apart from your outdoor tyres. Pump it to between 6 and 10 bar (85 to 145 psi) and fit it with a normal 700C road tube.
One important note: the Insider is not for road use. Keep it on a spare rear wheel or swap it on for winter indoor training, and save your outdoor tyres for outside.
