The Lazer Universal LED adds a bright, high-mounted rear light to compatible helmets without the bulk of a conventional seatpost light. It installs at the rear of the Rollsys® system, keeping the light positioned clearly behind you and creating a clean, integrated finish.
For day-to-day riding, the 40-lumen output gives you a strong visibility option for dusk, commuting and poorly lit roads, while the lower-output flashing and pulse settings help extend time between charges. Independent testing found the Lazer’s brighter modes compared favourably with another integrated helmet light, making it a useful choice when you want your rear light to stand out more clearly.
Operation is straightforward: press the button to select constant, flash or off. The rechargeable battery takes around 2.5 hours to charge using the magnetic cable, with published runtimes of up to 3.5 hours in solid mode, 8.5 hours in flashing mode and 14 hours in pulse mode. Lazer is a Belgian helmet brand founded in 1919, with roots in Nivelles and headquarters today in Mechelen, Belgium. The company began with protective headwear long before modern cycling helmets became standard, then evolved through leather crash hats into hard-shell bicycle helmets as the sport demanded higher levels of protection. Over the decades, Lazer became closely associated with cycling helmet development, including early hard-shell road helmets and more recent advances in fit, ventilation and rotational-impact design. Since 2016, Lazer has been part of Shimano, and in 2022 it introduced KinetiCore, its own built-in rotational impact protection system.
