ESI Fatty’s are the brand’s largest, most shock-absorbing MTB grips, built for riders who want more cushioning and a larger handhold. The 35 mm silicone profile feels substantial without needing a lock-on clamp, and the eight plush pillows help create a comfortable, controlled contact point on rough ground.

The silicone compound provides useful vibration damping and a grippy surface for technical descents, while the contoured shape gives your fingers natural areas to settle into. The tested pair weighed 81 g including the bar plugs, keeping the weight reasonable for such a thick grip. They are supplied in black and are latex- and rubber-free.

These grips fit standard 22 mm handlebars and most conventional MTB cockpits. Silicone grips require a different installation process from lock-on models, so follow the supplied instructions carefully: install the bar plugs first, then slide the grips into position. Once fitted correctly they stay put, but they are less convenient to remove and reuse than clamp-on grips; a lock-on design may suit you better if you regularly swap handlebars.
